I am back from a #10000km road trip enjoying the orderliness of Europe and planning how to finish the full Silk way.
The Silk road has played an enormous role in developing few civilizations – the Chinese, Iranian, Turkish, some African and others. Its name comes after the main stock which has been traded – the silk. It has run from 2nd century BCE until let’s say today, with the new modern railway built between China to Europe.
It’s always been a dream of mine to travel all the way from Europe to China but in 42 day, the most realistic end point was Altai mountains in Russia. One of the cleanest spots on Earth. Beautiful Altai mountains all around. A place between 4 countries: Russia, Kazakhstan, China and Mongolia.
Leg 1 was from Sofia to Baku, Azerbaijan and then crossing Caspian sea to Turkmenistan.

Leg 2 was from Turkmenbashi, Turkmenistan to Almaty, Kazakhstan.
